COR030 external-procedure

warning enabled by default

A procedure is declared external.

Why

An external declaration gives the procedure an implicit interface: the compiler checks neither the number nor the type of the arguments of its calls. Put the procedure in a module (or declare an explicit interface) so that every call is checked.

Reported

fortran
external solve

Preferred

fortran
use solvers, only: solve

Suppressing

For one occurrence, with the reason on the same line (or alone on the line before the statement):

fortran
! fobis: ignore[COR030] <why this occurrence is fine>

For the whole project, ignore = COR030 in the fobos [lint] section.

Equivalent

Fortitude rule C091 (see Lint Rules).
